1st Grade November NO PREP Pack Covers:

Math Skills:

  • Gobble, Gobble Counting: Two differentiated versions of a 100 chart are included for students to count and write numbers to 100.
  • Skip Count & Color: Students complete skip counting patterns. One page has been included for each: skip counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s.
  • Data and Graphing (set data): Students count Thanksgiving themed objects to gather data. They use the data to complete a tally table and answer questions.
  • Spin, Tally, & Graph: Students spin and collect data about Thanksgiving foods. Two versions are includedone with 3 data points and one with 4 data points.
  • Add it Up: Addition facts with sums up to 16.
  • Take it Away Turkey: Subtraction facts less than 10.
  • Sum it Up: Students cut and glue addition facts into groups according to sums. Sums 5-10 are included.
  • Turkey Take Away: Students cut and glue subtraction facts into groups according to differences. Differences 1-6 are included.
  • Turkey Time pages: One page is included for each of the following: time to the hour, time to half-hour, mixed time to hour and half-hour, and time to the quarter hour. Students read an analog clock and write the digital time.
  • How Long?: Four pages are provided for students to practice measuring the length of objects using nonstandard units of measure.
  • Work it Out: Students solve word problems with addition and subtraction through 20, as well as a few problems with three addends.
  • Color by Code: Two pages are included. One covers addition facts and the other covers subtraction facts. Students solve and color a Thanksgiving themed picture by code.
  • Addition and Subtraction Fact Fluency: Five pages of practice are included with sums and differences within 10. These pages have 20 problems per page.
  • Addition and Subtraction Fact Fluency: Five pages of practice are included with sums and differences within 10. These pages have 60 problems per page.

Language Arts Skills:

  • ABC Order: Four groups of five words are on this page for students to write in ABC order. The words have a Thanksgiving theme- ABC order to the first letter.
  • Read, Listen, & Sort (Short Vowels): Three pages are included for students to practice reading, listening for, and sorting words by their short vowel sounds.
  • Read, Listen, & Sort (Long Vowels): Three pages are included for students to practice reading, listening for, and sorting words by their long vowel sounds.
  • Singular and Plural Nouns: Five pages are included for students to practice spelling and writing singular and plural nouns to name pictures.
  • Singular and Plural Nouns Sort: Students read and cut and glue to sort twelve words into groups for singular and plural nouns.
  • Sight Word Color by Code: Two pages are included for students to practice reading sight words. As they read, they color in a cute Thanksgiving picture using a special code.
  • Spot that Word: Students read words and color by the given code. One page has been included for each of these skills: blends, digraphs, parts of speech, and vowel sounds.
  • Where’s the Turkey: This is a cut and glue page dealing with prepositions.
  • Making Words: Students cut apart the letters in the word Thanksgiving. They move the letters around to make words. Students write the words in categories on their paper.
  • Spin a Silly Sentence: Students will need a paperclip and a  pencil to make a spinner. Students spin to find an adjective, noun, and verb. Students use these to write silly sentences.
  • Sentence Sort: Students read sentences and add correct punctuation. They then cut and glue the sentences under the correct heading of “Declarative” or “Interrogative”.
  • Sentence Fix: Two worksheets have been included for students to read Thanksgiving themed sentences and to “fix” the sentences by writing them on the line with correct capitalization and punctuation. Both handwriting models have been included.
  • “I am Thankful for” Writing: Graphic organizers and writing pages have been included.
